Research Interests
My research involves developing and testing vaccines targeting porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus, classical swine fever virus, swine influenza virus, and avian influenza virus. With the use of an infectious cDNA clone, I created active HP-PRRS (Highly Pathogenic) virus. This deadly virus which is currently only found in China, is an essential tool for developing vaccines to prepare the US from possible outbreaks. Additionally, I create novel adjuvants and delivery systems for both subunit and modified live vaccines.
