She is also certified in veterinary chiropractic care.
“I am incredibly honored to receive the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award,” Dr. Andersen said. “The support and mentorship I received from the College of Veterinary Medicine helped shape my career, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to now support and mentor future K-State veterinary students.”
“At only 10 years after graduating, Dr. Andersen has built an impactful veterinary practice and reputation in the community,” said Interim Dean Dr. Elizabeth Davis. “We believe Dr. Andersen will have many more accomplishments and will continue to grow professionally in the future. We are pleased to have an opportunity to shine the light on her career through this Outstanding Young Alumnus Award.”

Dr. Andersen is passionate about developing the next generation of veterinary professionals and advocating for mental health and wellness within the profession. Over the past decade, she and her team have mentored nearly 30 veterinary students and dozens of undergraduate students.
Dr. Andersen also established a licensed childcare facility exclusively for team members’ children and implemented on-site mental health counseling to support employee well-being.
