Service

My primary responsibility is as a diagnostic pathologist for the Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, which involves biopsy and necropsy services from referring veterinarians and the KSU Veterinary Health Center. I am also the faculty supervisor of the histology and immunohistochemistry laboratory, which involves overseeing daily procedures and assisting in the development of new tests.

Teaching

My main teaching requirement is instruction on necropsy technique, gross tissue evaluation, conclusions of findings and analysis of findings for fourth year veterinary students participating in their necropsy rotation.

Research

My research responsibilities are mainly providing pathology support for collaborative studies. Past and current collaborative projects have included bovine viral diarrhea virus in cattle and alpacas, canine influenza virus, canine urethral bulking agents, swine Influenza virus, pH1N1 in swine, and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus. Recently, I have provided pathology support on a mouse model for prostate cancer. I am interested in assisting researchers with the pathological aspects of their studies in infectious disease or neoplastic disease.
