Hari Balaji
Background:
Hari Balaji is currently pursuing his PhD focusing on the metaphylaxis of bovine respiratory disease in beef-on-dairy farms, with a particular emphasis on its impact on enteric pathogens like Salmonella and Campylobacter. Recognizing the significant public health concerns surrounding these intracellular pathogens due to their zoonotic potential, he aims to explore their antimicrobial resistance profiles using metagenomic approaches. Hari completed his Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Master’s in Animal Biochemistry from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute in India. His previous research endeavors delved into assessing host-pathogen interactions of Salmonella Typhimurium. Outside of his academic pursuits, Hari finds enjoyment in reading books, playing volleyball, and listening to music during his leisure time.
