Regional Center for Veterinary and Comparative Medicine at Olathe

Uniting leaders, innovating solutions

The Regional Center for Veterinary and Comparative Medicine at Olathe is a Kansas City-area research facility to improve animal and human health research by focusing on naturally occurring animal diseases as models for human diseases.

In the animal health and nutrition industry, the Greater Kansas City area is the national leader and is recognized as America's Animal Health Corridor. Kansas City area companies account for nearly 32 percent of total sales in the $19 billion global animal health market. Combined with K-State’s veterinary and science expertise, the Regional Center for Veterinary and Comparative Medicine at Olathe is the epicenter for small animal clinical trials by working with local practitioners and the portal to the veterinary college and computational and statistical expertise located on the Manhattan campus.

The center will provide industry partners in animal and human health to advance the development and launch of new drugs and increased collaboration with research universities, research hospitals and other entities in Kansas and Missouri.
