Veterinary college's Clarenburg Lecture to feature cancer/fibrosis researcher
As part of its annual Clarenburg Lecture series, the College of Veterinary Medicine will host Ellen Puré on Thursday, Nov. 16. Her lecture topic is "Stroma as a Therapeutic Vulnerability in Solid Tumors," and will be presented at 4 p.m. in the Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health Auditorium.

Zoetis Foundation supports US-China Joint DVM Program through grant program for advancing veterinary education
The Zoetis Foundation recently announced a series of grants totaling $5.3 million to support 21 initiatives impacting 15 countries that will help enable thriving professions and livelihoods for livestock farmers and veterinary professionals, as well as relief efforts for those impacted by the earthquake in Türkiye. One of the grants is designated for the U.S.-China Center for Animal Health in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University.

Veterinary researchers investigate cause of liver abscesses in cattle; receive $280,000 in grants and matching funds
Raghavendra Amachawadi, assistant professor of food animal therapeutics, and T. G. Nagaraja, university distinguished professor of microbiology, are one of nine research teams to receive a $125,000 grant from the International Consortium for Antimicrobial Stewardship in Agriculture, or ICASA, and a matching $155,000 from Micronutrients Corporation, Cargill Incorporated and Phibro Animal Health Corporation.
