Pre-Vet & DVM Program
兽医预科和兽医学专业博士培养
The pre-Vet & DVM program is the U.S.-China Joint DVM Scholarship Program. The program is sponsored by China Scholarship Council (CSC), Kansas State University (KSU), the Chinese Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), the International Veterinary Collaboration for China (IVCC) and the Banfield Pet Hospital. The U.S.-China Center for Animal Health (USCCAH) coordinates and leads the partnership in mobilizing the program.
The joint program selects qualified Chinese students to pursue DVM degrees in the U.S. The selected students take pre-veterinary (pre-Vet) courses at KSU for a period of one year, and upon meeting DVM admission criteria in the U.S., continue to study for a period of 4 years in the DVM program at KSU or other U.S. universities under the coordination of KSU. Each selected student will receive a scholarship from the joint DVM program which covers tuitions and living expenses.
If selected Chinese students successfully complete the requirements of the designated program, they will be conferred a DVM degree by their study university in U.S. They are expected to return to China upon completion of their studies.
If selected students fail to meet the DVM admission criteria in the U.S. within the first one year, their sponsorship under this program will be terminated automatically. Continuation of the scholarship is also contingent on the student’s performance, which is evaluated annually.
Program admission requirement for GPA, TOEFL and GRE scores:
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and a TOEFL score of 100 or higher. To be competitive in the application for a DVM program in the U.S., a GRE score with the percentile average of all three sections greater than 50% is strongly recommended.
兽医预科和兽医学博士（DVM）项目是美中联合DVM奖学金项目。该项目由国家留学基金委、堪萨斯州立大学、中国兽医协会、国际兽医合作组织-中国和班菲尔德宠物医院资助。美中动物卫生中心协调和主导此合作项目进行。
此联合项目选拔中国学生到美国攻读DVM学位。入选的学生首先在堪萨斯州立大学进行一年的兽医预科学习，达到美国DVM录取标准后，接着在堪萨斯州立大学或其他合作大学进行4年的DVM项目学习。每一名入选的学生都会受到该联合DVM项目奖学金资助，包括学费和生活费。
如果入选的中国学生成功地完成了项目所规定的要求，他们所学习的美国大学将会为其颁发DVM学位证书。完成学业后，这些学生将会回中国服务。
如果入选的学生在第一年内没有达到美国DVM录取标准，其资助将自动终止。能否继续获得奖学金也会根据学生的年度表现而定。
该项目对GPA、TOEFL和GRE的成绩要求分别为：
申请者必须在4.0的GPA评价等级中获得最低3.0，TOEFL成绩要达到100或以上。为了在美国申请DVM项目时具有竞争力，建议GRE成绩三部分的平均百分数在50%以上。
The 2016 Pre-vet application deadline will still be February 1, 2016. However, the 2017 Pre-vet application deadline will be changed to July 1, 2016.
2016年兽医预科报名截止日期为2016年2月1日。 但是，2017年兽医预科报名截止日期将改为2016年7月1日。
