Student Programs
Stem Cell Research Graduate Research Assistantships
Depending on funding levels, the Center supports GRAs.
If you wish to apply, please compile and submit via email (mlweiss@ksu.edu) the following materials so your application can be evaluated:
- A brief application letter describing your stem cell-related career goals and research activities,
- A letter of support from a stem cell institute faculty mentor outlining your stem cell-related research projects,
- A copy of your graduate transcript and program of study. On this, please highlight your stem cell related course work: e.g., AP711, AP 999, etc.
- A brief description of the results from your previous year’s graduate research projects. For example, please list any stem cell-related papers (published or submitted), experiments conducted, abstracts, meetings attended, speaking engagements or awards.
The application deadlines are August 1 and January 1.
Veterinary Research Scholars Stem Cell Fellowship
Depending on funding levels, the Center supports one Veterinary Summer Scholar.
Under the auspices of the Veterinary Scholars Program, one scholar per year who conducts a stem cell research project will be supported.
When applying for the program, please specify your preference for conducting stem cell research and indicate which of the faculty mentors that you wish to work with.
The application deadline is February 1.
Undergraduate Research Opportunity in Stem Cell Research
Depending on funding levels, the Center supports one Undergraduate Cancer Stem Cell Research Award.
Under the auspices of the Johnson Cancer Research Centers Undergraduate Cancer Research Awards (CRA) program, one CRA per year will be awarded for students who conduct cancer stem cell research project will be supported.
When applying for the program, please specify your preference for conducting cancer stem cell research and indicate which of the faculty mentors that you wish to work with.
