College of Veterinary Medicine Admissions

A Letter from the Dean

Thank you for your interest in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University! Since our first class of graduates in 1907, over 7,000 individuals have become Doctors of Veterinary Medicine through our program. Our graduates develop the skillset, experiences, and knowledgebase necessary to positively impact their chosen profession within the field of veterinary medicine.

The Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine’s nationally recognized instructional and research programs provide the highest standards of professional education. As one of our students, you will examine and treat companion, livestock, food/fiber, equine, exotic, and many other animal species. You will partner with pet owners, breeders, livestock producers, zoos, animal sanctuaries, and other constituents as we realize the promise of the One Health Initiative.

Our program has an established history of success for our students, faculty, staff, and administration. Since 2010, our students have had a 99% pass rate for the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE, national board exams for practicing veterinarians) for seven years, and the pass rate was higher than the national pass rate for eight of those years.

On the day of graduation in 2017 and 2018, a survey of employment rate was conducted by the Associate Dean of Academic Programs and Student Affairs Office, and 100% of the students who completed the survey had accepted an offer of employment.

As you navigate our Admissions page, please do not hesitate to ask us questions about our program, curriculum, selections process, support services, or resources. Our Office of Admissions can be reached at admit@vet.k-state.edu or 785-532-4852. Thank you again for your interest in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. Go ‘Cats!
