Scholarships
The college awards several scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis each fall to graduate students in good standing in the CVM.
Albert L. Burroughs Memorial Award
This fund provides financial assistance to graduate students in good standing with the Graduate School (College of Veterinary Medicine graduate programs) at Kansas State University. The monies are to help graduate students with expenses related to research programs and/or professional development.
Embert Coles Memorial Award
The recipient of this award is a graduate student in Clinical Pathology. He/she must be in good standing in the Graduate School (College of Veterinary Medicine graduate programs) at Kansas State University. If there are no graduate students enrolled in the program, the money will be used to support professional advancement of residents.
Horst W. and Elizabeth A. Leipold Award
This fund provides financial assistance to a graduate student in good standing with the Graduate School (College of Veterinary Medicine programs) at Kansas State University who is working in genetic pathology, specifically with hereditary and congenital anomalies in cattle. If there is no qualified candidate in the graduate student population, an undergraduate student, junior or senior, with interest and aptitude in genetic pathology will be acceptable.
G. Roger and Irene J. Spencer Award
The goal of this expendable account is to assist student(s) in a dual-degree (DVM/Masters Degree) program who has/have demonstrated need.
Leo and Gloria Whitehair Award
The primary purpose of this fund is to provide financial assistance to graduate students properly enrolled in the Graduate School (College of Veterinary Medicine graduate programs) at Kansas State University. This endowment will provide enhancement dollars for a graduate student focusing on whole animal research of any kind. An undergraduate showing interest in whole animal research may quality if there is no appropriate graduate student candidate.
