Wet Labs
Liver Biopsy in Cattle
Join Dr. Scott Fritz for a hands-on demonstration and training about liver biopsy collection in cattle. This minimally invasive procedure will be demonstrated, and each attendee will have the opportunity to perform a biopsy. Proper sample collection directly impacts diagnostic accuracy, particularly for trace mineral evaluation. This session will focus on practical technique, sample handling and common pitfalls that affect results, making it directly applicable to field use.
Small Animal Ultrasound Basics
This year, join us for an exciting workshop on Basics of Small Animal Ultrasonography! This hands-on opportunity is essential for anyone looking to get started with ultrasound in their small animal practice. The workshop requires no previous experience, and will begin with understanding the equipment and move through scanning live patients. Don't miss this chance to expand your skills and improve patient care in a small group setting. Participants will be divided into small groups with ultrasound equipment, live patients and expert instructors. The session will begin with a demonstration by a radiologist followed by a guided hands-on experience. (Max 18 participants).
Special Saturday Session
Anesthetic Monitoring for Vet Tech’s and Nurses
The first year of this RVT training is focused on Anesthesia Medicine. This afternoon-long seminar will have 3 CE's approved by the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Kapaldo will present three focused sessions covering key aspects of anesthesia care - blood pressure monitoring and treatment of hypotension, application of clinical decision-making through case scenarios and best practices for safe and controlled anesthesia recovery - emphasizing practical, physiology-based approaches that can be immediately applied in practice. The program will conclude with a Q&A session. DVM's welcome to attend.
