Sunday Morning:

9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
A night at the ER with Dr. Loewen - 2CE
Emergency medicine is an area where there can be a lot of unpredictability and unknown. Yet with a firm foundation in a problem oriented approach, and going back to the “basics”, your confidence in emergency medicine can improve! This lecture time will follow case base approaches to common emergencies. There will be time set out during the lecture time for discussion and for you to apply your knowledge!

11:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.
Break (food and refreshments provided)

11:15 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.
DVM Year 0-3: What’s in store for new and future graduates with Dr. Epstein - 1CE.

Sunday Afternoon:

You can either participate in our Emergency Escape Room* or attend the Sunday Afternoon sessions in Small Animals, Equine or Food Animals at the Annual Conference.

*About the Emergency Escape Room: " A Night at the ER" :
Emergency medicine requires a team and collaboration to be successful (as does most of veterinary medicine). Apply your knowledge of veterinary medicine, critical thinking skills as well as communication and team work skills at the “night at the ER” escape room. There will be puzzles linked to the content discussed during the morning to help you save a patient on the way! At the end, there will be a debrief not only of the escape room but how to apply debriefing in the emergency setting!
The escape room is available to teams of 6 people/slots. Bring a friend, create your team of 6 or we can have us place you on one. If you wish to enroll or have questions please send an email to: alexiou@vet.k-state.edu.
