Dr. Thomas E. Roberts

Dr. Thomas E. Roberts, 56, Cody, Wyoming, died April 17, 1989, of a heart attack. Dr. Roberts was AVMA Executive Board Chairman from 1986-1987, serving as District IX Board member from 1982-1988. He represented AVMA members in Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. He served as chairman of the AVMA committees of Alternate Therapies and Impaired Veterinarians and as a member of the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates. Dr. Roberts operated a practice in Bucklin, Kansas, for two years before establishing his general practice in Cody in 1959. He took a leave of absence in 1978 to teach for a year in the Department of Microbiology and Veterinary Medicine, University of Wyoming. Dr. Roberts was Wyoming Veterinarian of the Year in 1988. He served as president of the Wyoming VMA from 1973-1974 and, as secretary-treasurer for 12 years. He was past chairman of the Wyoming State Board of Veterinary Examiners. Dr. Roberts represented Wyoming as an AVMA delegate of alternate from 1971-1982.
