Touch Policy
The teaching of manual medical skills (e.g., surgical technique, dissection, necropsy and related clinical procedures) often requires physical guidance of instrument handling, hand placement and body positioning. Students should expect that instructors may provide hands-on, in-the-moment guidance in the form of appropriate physical contact as part of normal teaching practice and without prior notice. Students with concerns about physical contact in the instructional setting are encouraged to speak with the course coordinator prior to or at any point during the course.
