Graduation Hooding Policy

In addition to inviting close relatives who have a DVM degree to hood you during graduation, we are inviting those of you who have also worked on graduate degrees (MS, MPH or PhD) or certificate programs (Feedlot Certificate) within the college to include your graduate degree advisor/mentor during the hooding ceremony. This is entirely voluntary on your part. If you do not request to be hooded by a graduate degree advisor, certificate mentor, or close relative who has an earned DVM degree, you will be hooded by one of our department heads.

If you wish to be hooded by your graduate degree advisor or certificate mentor, please send the Associate Dean the following:

  1. your name
  2. name of advisor doing hooding
  3. name of graduate degree or certificate program which you have or will be completing
