Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine Honor Code and Board Procedures
Honor Code Statement:

Veterinary medicine is grounded in the privilege of self-government and should be
practiced upon entering the profession as a matriculating veterinary student in order to prepare for the demands and expectations of the veterinary profession. As a veterinary student enrolled in the professional curriculum at the college of veterinary medicine, it is expected that behavior within the college and in outside educational opportunities adheres to this set of professional and ethical guidelines.

It is understood that these guidelines supplement the Principles of
Veterinary Medical Ethics of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

I will follow principles of academic integrity. All exams and assignments I turn in will be
my own original work. I will use and distribute authorized materials in accordance with
the policies and guidelines established by the faculty in each course. I will report any
acts of academic dishonesty that I am aware of. I will demonstrate professional integrity
in interactions with patients, clients, the college community and the public. I will provide
competent and compassionate care to patients and clients under appropriate veterinary
supervision. I will document patient care and client communication honestly and in
accordance with college policies. I will respect the veterinary-patient-client relationship
and the confidentiality afforded to the client. I will conduct myself in a courteous,
sincere, and unselfish manner to develop a relationship of mutual respect among
students, faculty, staff, and members of the community. My communications and
behaviors will be respectful, even in disagreement. I will use university, college, and
others’ property appropriately and treat it with care.
