CBC and chemistry machine, gas anesthesia, Dentalaire dental machine, in clinic x-ray machine and We have an immediate opening for full time associate veterinary to join our mixed animal practice.  Our main practice is located in Madison South Dakota with a satellite clinic 20 miles west in Howard South Dakota.  Madison has a population of 6000 and is located 35 miles northwest of Sioux Falls.  Small town living with close proximity to large city is always a plus.
    We are a mixed animal practice that takes pride in commitment to and commitment from our clients and our patients.  Large animal is mostly cow/calf operations.  Progressive herd health medicine to cow/calf, backgrounding, and feedlot is what we strive to achieve.  
    The small animal side of our practice has endless opportunities.  From the routine health checks to elective surgeries and emergency surgeries, you just never know what you might see.  
    As of now, we are a 3 doctor practice.  Two of us are full time and one is part time.  The two fulltime doctors split their time between large animal and small animal medicine.  The part time doctor excels in small animal medicine and equine medicine.  On call is split evenly between the 2 full time doctors right now.  On call will be split evenly between the three full time veterinarians.
    We strive to provide quality veterinary services for both large and small animal.  We have portable hydraulic chutes, stationary hydraulic chutes in both clinics, large haul-in facilities at both clinics, and a tilt table in one clinic.  We have IBEX portable ultrasound machine, universal 900 portable ultrasound machine, portable x-ray machine, Abaxis digital processor, and equine power float.  
    Salary will be based on experience.  Benefits include health insurance, AVMA,  SDVMA dues, liability insurance, and CE stipend to name a few.
    The perfect candidate would be energetic with motivation to improve on everything that we do.  Ultrasounding beef pregnancy is becoming a large part of late summer and early fall work, so interest and knowledge in that would be a plus.  Interest in small animal surgery could be endless for the right person.  Equine and small ruminant medicine can lead to more opportunities also.

The cattle team is looking to hire an additional veterinarian to join our team.  We are seeking a self motivated, team and goal oriented individual for our progressive mixed animal practice. Our practice is currently approximately 90% bovine which includes top notch seed stock producers, cow/calf, backgrounder's and feedlots.

Our clients are our greatest strength.  The practice emphasis is "the cattle team" to help our clients be up to date with current technologies and management strategies to help them make informed decisions on their operations to increase average daily gain, overall herd health and fertility.  These management strategies will aid in "healthier profits till the cows come home."

Hosmer Veterinary Clinic
Hosmer Veterinary Clinic is a full-service mixed animal practice located in Hosmer, SD which is an hour west of Aberdeen, SD.  
The Hosmer clinic was established in August 2004 by Dr. Holly Roe-Johnson.  Haul in facilities and an indoor working area are available.  The operation consists of 80% beef cow/calf, with the remainder consisting of small animal, equine, swine and small ruminants.  We offer x-ray, blood work, ultrasound, and starting to offer embryo transfer.  

Also employed at the Hosmer Veterinary Clinic are Dr. Cassie Holtz, Dr. Tim Kruse, and Dr. Steph Smith.  

The clinic is open during regular business hours and has 24/7 emergency services.  


Eureka Veterinary Service

In July of 2016, Hosmer Veterinary Clinic purchased Eureka Veterinary Service in Eureka, SD.  The Eureka clinic offers small animal vet services and supplies as well as large animal supplies.  

The Eureka office is open during regular business hours with 24/7 emergency services covered by the Hosmer Veterinary Staff.    

Wetonka Veterinary Service

The Wetonka Veterinary Service will be finished in the spring of 2017.  It is located 20 miles northwest of Aberdeen.  Haul in facilities and an indoor working area will be available.  

Practice will consist of primarily beef cattle, ambulatory services, along with small animal and equine.  Looking for a mixed animal practitioner focused on cow/calf production that also has interest in small animal, equine and swine.
