According to an April 15,
2003 report by the AAVMC Task Force, there is a great demand for
pathologists in the work force today. In the American College of
Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP), there are about 150 positions
for board certified veterinary pathologists which remain vacant.
An additional shortage of roughly 65 veterinary pathologists is
projected in the next five years. As there is a definite need for
veterinary pathologists, now is an excellent time for veterinary
students to explore career opportunities in pathology. A variety
of exciting careers in pathology await interested veterinary
students.
