The Society of Phi Zeta Sigma Chapter

The objectives of the Society of Phi Zeta are to recognize and promote scholarship and research in matters pertaining to the welfare and diseases of animals.
Phi Zeta Research Day will start at 12:00 PM in Frick Auditorium on Tuesday, March 14, 2000. Classes will be dismissed in the first three years of the curriculum and clinical assignments for the 4th year will be minimized this year to allow attendance during the afternoon.
If you are planning on presenting, please submit at least the title of your abstracts to me (Wally Cash) by February 27, 2000 and the completed abstract by March 2, 2000. Be sure to indicate if you are doing a presentation (15 minutes total) and/or preparing a poster. Both the title and the abstract can be submitted via e-mail (GroupWise). If submitted by e-mail, please submit the abstract as an attachment. See instructions below.
Submission Instructions: (Please Indicate Separately Your Specific Audiovisual Needs)
Abstracts are limited to 1 page, single-spaced, with 1" margins, and a heading in bold print that includes the title of the presentation or poster, the names of the authors with the presenting author's name in italics and the faculty sponsor's name underlined. Funding or other support should be acknowledged in a footnote. Fonts should be at least 10 point and easy to read such as Times New Roman. Also please submit an electronic version of the abstract in Word, Word Perfect or text file. If you submit by e-mail with the abstract as an attachment that is adequate. If you submit a hardcopy, please also deliver a disk with the electronic version. I will acknowledge receipt of all abstracts submitted.

Basic Research ($150.00, $100.00 & $50.00: Undergraduates, Graduate Students, Veterinary Students, Post-Docs & House Officers)
Clinical Research ($150.00, $100.00 & $50.00: Undergraduates, Graduate Students, Veterinary Students, Post-Docs & House Officers)
Production Animal Award ($200: production animal research or clinical case presented by a Veterinary Student)
Clinical Case Report ($100.00: for case presentation by a 3rd or 4th year Veterinary Student)
To Phi Zeta Members: There will be a meeting on March 2, 2000 at 12:00 PM in TH 201. Please try to attend. An agenda will be forthcoming. Dues in the amount of $10.00 are now payable. Please send your check made out to Phi Zeta to Wally Cash.
To All New Active Phi Zeta Members: Dues in the amount of $20.00 are now payable. This covers both your membership fee, and your membership certificate. As per the letter you received on 2-13-2000 please notify Wally Cash by 2-21-2000 if you are going to become a member, and forward your check made out to Phi Zeta to Wally Cash by February 28, 2000. This will allow us to order the membership certificates in a timely fashion, and have them ready for the Honors Banquet on March 14, 2000.
To All Participants, Phi Zeta Members and Other Attendees: The Phi Zeta Banquet will be the evening of March 14, 2000 at 6:30 PM in the Union West Ballroom. Please send a check made out to Phi Zeta for $14.00 per person to Wally Cash for banquet tickets. We need to have a head count for the banquet by February 29, 2000 if at all possible. The banquet is complimentary for all new members inducted into membership the evening of March 14, 2000.
