STOP!
Before proceeding to the "Change CVM NetWare
Password" site, please read the following: 1. Before continuing, be sure cookies are turned on in your web browser (in Internet Explorer, click on TOOLS-INTERNET OPTIONS, select the PRIVACY tab, move the slider to "ACCEPT ALL COOKIES"). The site uses cookies to maintain your browser session information and keep you logged in. 2. The CVM NetWare password change website uses encryption for security. If a "Security Alert" pop-up box appears when you click the link at the bottom of this page, just answer YES and continue. The security certificate was created by us and can be trusted. 3. If this is your first visit to the "Change CVM NetWare Password" site, you will be asked to set up your challenge-phrase questions and password hint once you have logged in. This information will provide a way for you to return to the site and reset your password should you forget it in the future. You can always return to the site to change your challenge-phrase responses or password hint. After completing this step, if you are asked to login again, you'll need to go back to Step 1 above and turn on cookies. 4. When setting your CVM NetWare password, please select one that follows the same security requirements as your campus eID password. The eID password requirements are:
5. Please be aware that changing your CVM NetWare password does not change your CVM GroupWise (e-mail) password. You may, if you wish, change your GroupWise password to match your eID and/or network password, but it is not required. GroupWise passwords can be changed on-line via GroupWise WebMail access. Log in at https://webmail.vet.k-state.edu and click on the "Options" button in the upper right corner of the window. 6. Also note that changing your CVM NetWare password does not change your Windows Workstation (machine) password. The first time you use your computer to log into the CVM network with your new password, you may (if you are normally the only person who logs into your machine and have an account on the workstation) be prompted with a box that looks like the image below. Many people see this box and assume that their new NetWare password isn't working, when in reality, the workstation just needs to authenticate you before synchronizing to your new NetWare password. If you see this box, you'll need to type in your OLD password in the password field and check the box indicating that you want to change your Workstation password to match your NetWare password. If successful, you won't be prompted again until you change your NetWare password next time around. 7. You may now proceed to the change password page.
