The mission of the Conservation and Research Center (CRC) is the conservation of global diversity through scientific research, professional training, and environmental education.  Based on a 3,200 acre field station near Front Royal, Virginia, CRC is a division of the Smithsonian's National Zoological Park.  Scientists travel throughout the world to save wildlife, to save habitats and to restore species to the wild.
