Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory

Develop. Defend. Deliver.

The K-State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory is a full-service animal diagnostic laboratory that offers a range of diagnostic tests and services important for domestic and wild animals, located at Kansas State University's Manhattan campus.

The mission of the KSVDL is to develop and deliver accurate, innovative, and timely diagnostic and consultative services to the veterinary and animal health community in Kansas and the nation. In addition, the KSVDL provides an excellent environment of support for the teaching and research responsibilities of the department of diagnostic medicine/pathobiology, the College of Veterinary Medicine and Kansas State University.

The KSVDL is a full-service, American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians accredited laboratory, offering a complete range of diagnostic services for all species. Services are provided to practicing veterinarians, animal owners, regulatory agencies and public health officials.

The laboratory screens more than 60,000 rabies samples a year and is the only accredited veterinary diagnostic laboratory in Kansas and only laboratory able to participate in the National Animal Health Laboratory Network.
