Sergeant Abbey Lindholm is a member of the class of 2010 who is taking a year off from school to deploy to Afghanistan. She serves with the 445th Medical Detachment (Veterinary Service). She has many responsibilities but a major portion of her time is spent working with the military working dogs. We are proud of her commitment and sacrifice.
Dr. David Hodgson is an anesthesiologist with the College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas Sate University. He is currently spending six months in Afghanistan as part of KSU’s continued effort to partner with Kabul University. Dr. Hodgson’s primary work is in the Kabul University Veterinary clinic where he assists in clinical instruction to the students and helps the faculty build their clinical skills.
Major Charles Dodd completed a Masters of Science degree and a Residency in Food Animal Medicine at the KSU-CVM. He is currently deployed with the U.S. Army vet corps to Iraq where his efforts on the part of provincial reconstruction teams will help to build the livestock infrastructure of the country. Upon his return, Maj. Dodd is scheduled to begin a PhD program here at KSU.
Update: Dr. Dodd has recently returned from Iraq and is ready to begin his work in Kansas. We welcome him back home!
Dr. Barry Schwenk is a KSU grad (2000) who is currently serving with Christian Veterinary Mission in Ethiopia. He and his wife are involved with a variety of community development work in an arid and mountainous area of the country.
