Well-liked by both students and colleagues, Dr. Philine Wangemann, Associate Professor of Anatomy and Physiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine, has been cited for her accomplishments and for her genuine enthusiasm for research and teaching.
Dr. Wangemann is a member of the K-State faculty since 1998. She is an internationally acclaimed researcher and teacher. Recent invitations to lecture have brought her around the globe to countries like Japan, France and Germany.
Dr. Wangemann is the head of the Cell Physiology Laboratory in the Anatomy & Physiology Department. Her research focuses on the cellular physiology of vascular smooth muscle cells and of inner ear epithelial cells. Dr. Wangemann has received over three million dollars in federal research funding from the National Institutes of Health. Federal funding is used to support her research in the Cell Physiology Laboratory.
