Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory – Research Assistant
The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory is hiring a full-time term Research Assistant in the Rabies Laboratory. This position will be responsible for conducting tests in the rabies laboratory including the performance of rabies antibody analyses on human and animal sera including serum neutralization and ELISA assays, the interpretation and reporting of serological and diagnostic results, and maintaining the quality system through documentation, review, and trend analysis for all tests as well as corrective action reports and ensuring the quality of test results. The person in this position will also assist with program operations including monitoring quality control data, accuracy of test result entry, SOP precision and necessary updates, monitoring supplies usage and timely ordering.
A bachelor’s degree in Biology or related sciences along with a minimum of one year of laboratory experience is required. Basic computer skills including databases, spreadsheets, word processing and data entry are required. Candidate must also have excellent communication and organizational skills. Candidates with one or more years of laboratory experience in cell biology, clinical laboratory test procedures and quality review are preferred.
