Research Assistant or Research Associate position available at Kansas State University
A Research Assistant or Research Associate position is opening immediately to study innate immunity and vaccine development in the Department of Anatomy and Physiology at Kansas State University. A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biomedical, Biochemistry, Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Animal Sciences or related field is required; master degree is preferred. Working experience in a research laboratory setting in one of the following areas: chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, molecular biology, biomedical science, or other biological sciences is required. Individuals with bachelor degree will be considered for Research Assistant; individuals with master degree are preferred and will be considered for Research Associate. Two to three years of experience are preferred for candidates with bachelor’s degrees, while one-year of experience is preferred for candidates with master’s degrees.
This is a research position. The incumbent will have the responsibility to plan and conduct experiments, keep laboratory record and write, and edit manuscripts and articles, complete diagnostic tests and determine, carryout and modify methods, procedures and techniques, design, fabricate, calibrate and repair research equipment; prepare grant applications; and monitor expenditures. Good oral and written communication skills; able to work in Manhattan or K-State Olathe.
