Research Associate position at Kansas State University

A Research Associate position is opening immediately to provide support for the Nanotechnology Innovation Center of Kansas State (NICKS) under the direction of Dr. Nancy Monteiro-Riviere (http://www.vet.k-state.edu/depts/ap/faculty/Monterio.htm) located at Kansas State University housed within the College of Veterinary Medicine. This position will manage and maintain a research laboratory involved with nanotoxicology. This person will have the responsibility to plan and conduct experiments, keep laboratory records, assist with manuscripts and articles, complete diagnostic tests, oversee all aspects related to research equipment, prepare grant applications, and monitor expenditures.

A Masters degree (or higher) in Toxicology, Biology, or related field is required. Experience required in maintaining a research lab, working with graduate students and post-docs, and supervising technicians. The successful candidate must be proficient in mammalian cell culture, toxicology assays, multiplex assays, light microscopy, and electron microscopy. Must have published papers in peer reviewed scientific journals. Animal handling experience is essential.
