Research Assistant Professor
Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory
A term Research Assistant Professor position is available in the Molecular Diagnostic section of Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (KSVDL), Kansas State University. KSVDL is moving forward to deploy advanced technologies for higher throughput molecular diagnostic applications, and being equipped to handle emerging animal and zoonotic pathogen identifications. The new hire is expected to have extensive knowledge and experience in molecular biology, genomics and bioinformatics. Knowledge and experience in advance technologies that can be deployed in molecular diagnostic, which include but not limited to microarray and next generation sequencing technologies are highly desirable. The new hire will also be responsible for new molecular diagnostic assay development, validation, and application. Drafting assay development and validation data analysis report, manuscript and research grant may be required.
A Ph.D. degree in life sciences with experience in molecular biology, genomics and bioinformatics is required. Experience in microarray and DNA sequencing is preferred.
