The Agricultural Practices Section of the Department of Clinical
Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University is
seeking applicants for graduate student positions in beef production
medicine. The production medicine group is focused on addressing
infectious and metabolic disease, production efficiency, and emerging
issues of cow-calf, stocker, and feedlot production. Students will be
able to focus their training within a wide range of interests within the
beef industry and participate in a variety of learning experiences.
Successful candidates will be required to register with the graduate
school for either a Master’s degree or PhD. Training will include formal
didactic coursework and practical training experiences. Opportunities to
become involved in teaching will also be available. Students will be
involved with ongoing research projects within the beef production
medicine group, and will also be required to undertake an independent
hypothesis-driven research project.
Kansas State University offers competitive salaries, commensurate with
experience. A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree, or equivalent, is
required. Preference will be given to veterinarians with practice
experience and an interest in food animal production.
