Full-time associate wanted for progressive mixed animal practice in Northern Utah. Bear River Animal Hospital is located in Tremonton, UT, 1 1//2 hours north of Salt Lake City directly on I-15. The practice is well established in the community and has been serving its clients for over 40 years. The practice area covers most of northern Utah (Box Elder and Weber Counties) and extends into southern Idaho and western Wyoming. Case load is truly mixed consisting of approximately 70% large animal and 30% small animal. The practice services several dairies with regular herd health, reproductive ultrasonography and consultation services. Over 60,000 beef cattle are in our practice area. They are primarily cow-calf and range from commercial cattle to purebred registered cattle and show stock. In house bovine surgical facilities and hydraulic chute as well as portable hydraulic chutes facilitate haul-in and mobile services. A padded surgical suite with inhalant anesthesia as well as ultrasound and digital radiography provide a wide range of services for our equine clientelle ranging from dental care to reproduction and lameness evaluation. High quality small animal service is augmented by in house blood lab, digital radiography and anesthetic monitoring system. Small animal services range from educational preventative medicine to orthopedic surgery and dental care. Desired applicants would be working mostly with large food animals and to a lesser extent, equine and small animal. On call resposibilities would include 1-2 nights per week, every fourth holiday and one weekend per month. A generous compensation package including salary, retirement, insurance and CE is offered.
