Lecturer Position in Large Animal Anesthesia- The School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Department of Clinical Studies New Bolton Center, invites applications for a position of Lecturer in Large Animal Anesthesia. This is a one-year appointment. Requirements include a VMD/DVM/equivalent degree and board certification in veterinary anesthesiology (ACVA). Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Clinical responsibilities include both primary anesthesia care and supervision of anesthetic management of equine and other large animal patients, including research animals, by students, house officers and veterinary technicians and involves participation in the out of hours anesthesia rotations. The candidate is expected to participate in the academic program of the Section of Large Animal Emergency, Critical Care & Anesthesia, including didactic and laboratory teaching of veterinary students, house officers and technicians/technician trainees. A full time benefits package will be offered. The appointment is effective November 1, 2013. New Bolton Center is located in a rural setting in scenic southeast Pennsylvania, 35 miles west of the main University Campus in Philadelphia. The anesthesia patient population is predominantly equine with approximately 1,100 patients anesthetized each year. Dairy/Field Service Clinical Associate.- The Department of Clinical Studies New Bolton Center, University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine is seeking to fill a full time Clinical Associate Position. The Clinical Associate will spend part time coordinating the activities at the Marshak Dairy on the New Bolton Center Campus and part time, assisting in Field Service. As coordinator of the Marshak Dairy, the Clinical Associate will oversee the budget, ensure compliance to regulatory agencies, and provide long-range planning and goal setting. Other responsibilities will include designing and implementing herd health protocols, providing routine veterinary care and teaching veterinary students in all stages of their training at the dairy. The Clinical Associate will provide clinical service to the food animal clients in Field Service at the discretion of the Section Chief. Weekend emergency coverage will be required on a rotational basis . The position is located in Kennett Square, PA. No public transportation is available. Qualifications include a VMD/DVM or equivalent degree and experience in bovine medicine and production medicine is required. The position is available July 2013.
