Our site, ehow.com, offers our 60 million monthly readers expert, actionable information across a variety of categories, from home and health to tech and pets. Our new project for this site is a live Q&A feature, which will be staffed by veterinarians who will answer our readers’ pet-related questions online. We’re looking for vets interested in animal health outreach who could work with our live help desk for an hourly fee, as their schedules permit. Candidates must have an active veterinary license in good standing with no pending actions. Veterinarians will work remotely, and hourly compensation is negotiable. Lethbridge Animal Clinic (LAC) is seeking a Veterinarian in Bovine Veterinary and Production Consulting. LAC provides comprehensive herd health programs, veterinary services, production consulting services and individual animal data collection systems to commercial feedlots and cow-calf producers throughout Southern Alberta. A Professional Services Veterinarian is responsible to provide expert veterinarian insight to a variety of different clients throughout Southern Alberta. RESPONSIBILITIES and DUITIES: Expert Veterinary Insight- Performing regular schedule visits to feedlot and cow/calf clients to maintain positive communications and observe animal health procedures and events. Identify areas of concern that require actions or solutions and devise solutions and recommendations in conjunction with the Professional Services Team. Utilize the individual animal collection software to monitor health and production parameters and then to provide appropriate oversight and consultation to the clients. Review, discuss, and provide constructive input regarding feedlot and cow/calf treatment, vaccination, feeding, and management protocols. VETERINARY SKILLS and TASKS as required; Post Mortem Examinations, Bovine Surgery, Individual Animal Examinations, Pregnancy Diagnosis, Bull Test Evaluations, Communicate protocols, research data, recommendations and technical information etc. to clients. The Department of Population Medicine, Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Ruminant Health Management. Applicants will have a DVM or equivalent degree and will be eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Ontario. A post-graduate degree, preferably at the doctoral level, in ruminant health management, epidemiology, or a related field is required. In addition, clinical practice experience with ruminants is required. Salary is negotiable and commensurate with qualifications. The successful candidate will contribute to ruminant-related teaching in multiple years (Phases) of the DVM program, including final year DVM clinical teaching. In addition, the candidate will assist in delivering clinical services within the Ruminant Field Service Clinic of the OVC Health Sciences Centre. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and motivation to have a leading role in both teaching and clinical duties in dairy and beef cattle, sheep and goats. The successful candidate will participate in providing after-hours emergency service in Ruminant Field Service. S/he will have demonstrated productivity or a strong potential in research related to ruminant health management. The successful candidate will be expected to develop both independent and collaborative research programs in an area of ruminant health management and generate research funds to support graduate student training to the MSc, PhD and/or DVSc levels.
