The Veterinary Population Medicine Department at the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine Is recruiting a veterinary anatomic pathologist. This position will be an annually renewable academic professional at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Clinical Specialist. The final rank and terms of appointment will depend on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate consistent with collegiate and University policies. The candidate must have a DVM or equivalent foreign degree and be ACVP board-certified or board-eligible by the start date. A PhD degree Is preferred. Desired experience would include a demonstrated commitment to diagnostic service, teaching and collaborative research in veterinary pathology. This position is responsible for conducting diagnostic investigations on Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory accessions (food and/or companion animal) and to communicate results to clinical faculty, practicing veterinarians, and animal owners. Additional duties include teaching pathology (lectures and laboratories) to professional and graduate students/residents, teaching pathology rotations to senior DVM students, and participation in collaborative research. The actual time commitment to each of these duties is negotiable. The College of Veterinary Medicine Is located on the St Paul Campus of the University of Minnesota and has a reputation for excellence in basic and clinical research programs. Particular research strengths include: genetics, genomics, molecular immunology, and infectious diseases. Opportunities exist for collaboration with Schools of Medicine and Public Health of the University.
