Our Practice: Located in the heart of Southern Illinois, Pet Wellness Center (PWC) in Marion, is a convenient one-stop-shop for all pet’s needs. PWC offers a wide variety of veterinary services such as, 24 hour on-call emergency services, grooming and boarding. Other services provided by PWC are routine surgery, diagnostic medicine, preventative medicine, specialty allergy regimens and testing, spays/neuters, artificial insemination, in house laboratory testing, micro-chipping services, geriatric care, pain management, behavioral management, and much more. Our Doctors: Dr. J. Craig Smith, DVM is the practice owner at PWC. After graduating from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Dr. Smith completed his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University. Dr. Smith has 14 years experience in mixed animal practice as well as 11 years in exclusive small animal practice. Dr. Smith’s specialty interests include surgery, internal medicine, dermatology and dentistry. Dr. Kellie Hackler, DVM is an associate veterinarian at PWC. Dr. Hackler recently graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. She also received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois. Dr. Hackler specializes in exotics and her interests include internal medicine and ultrasound. Our Staff: Pet Wellness Center is composed of four full-time technicians, four assistants and three full time receptionists. We have a full time groomer and additional staff. Our Future:We have expanded to include a satellite location that is a full mixed practice and is only 25 miles from PWC. This location is supported by PWC for small animal emergencies, hospitalization, laboratory testing, and extensive medical and surgery cases. It will provide spays, neuters, dentals, preventative care and other outpatient surgeries as well as ambulatory farm animal and equine services. We are looking at expanding into other locations! We also want to provide a full service equine center. We are looking for compassionate, motivated associate veterinarians with a business mind who would like to join us in this expansion. Full-time associate veterinarian is needed at our 2+ doctor well-established mixed animal practice in central Illinois. Brix Veterinary Service in Shelbyville, IL, is a full service well-equipped facility that includes an in-house VetScan lab, new dental equipment and digital dental x-ray, Cardell monitoring during surgery, portable and stationary x-ray machines, large animal ultrasound, a heated livestock handling facility, and more. Practice is 80% small animal and 20% large animal, which is mainly beef cow-calf and equine. Longterm fun-loving staff and loyal clientele give an excellent work environment. New grads welcome, mentorship provided and valued. New grad salary begins at $60,000 and is otherwise commensurate with experience.
