Ambulatory Clinician: Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine's Ambulatory Service in the Department of Environmental and Population Health seeks a large animal clinician with equine emphasis at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank for the field service based in a new facility in Woodstock, Connecticut, 32 miles from the school's campus in North Grafton, Massachusetts. Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent and be eligible to obtain licensure in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. The successful applicant will have a minimum of two years of large animal experience. He/she shall demonstrate a strong commitment to clinical teaching and service while contributing strongly as a team member to the collegial atmosphere of the section and the school. Responsibilities include clinical teaching of veterinary students on ambulatory rotations as well as some involvement in clinical laboratories and didactic programs at the North Grafton campus. The section consists of 7 faculty, including diplomats of ACT and ABVP. This expanding practice is approximately 45% bovine, 35% equine, and 20% small ruminants. The position will concentrate on the expanding equine portion of the practice but will include bovine and small ruminant cases as well. The practice currently has digital radiography, ultrasound capability, a three meter endoscope, and a haul-in area to see patients in-house. The equine case load consists largely of pleasure horses and includes several large stables.
