Serological Tests Required for Import to Australia

Rabies Neutralizing Antibody Titration Test (RNATT):  Australian authorities require measurement of rabies antibodies, preferably by the FAVN test, with a result of 0.5 IU/ml from a blood sample drawn between 60 days to 12 months prior to travel.

Note: If an animal has two microchip numbers, the first one listed on the form will be the only one on the official results label for rabies serology by FAVN.

Leptosporosis Canicola:

  • Route 1 -- unvaccinated dogs:  one test w/in 21 days pre-export with a negative result.
  • Route 2 -- vaccinated dogs:  one test w/in 30 days pre-export with a result  </= 1:400 and a second test no less than 14 days after the first test with a result </= 1:400 and not greater than the first test. 

Ehrlichia CanisOne test w/in 30 days pre-export with a negative result.

BrucellosisOne test w/in 30 days pre-export with a negative result.
