Veternary Diagnostic Laboratory
My primary responsibility, as director of the microbiology laboratory, is to oversee the day-to-day case management of bacterial and fungal diagnostic specimens. The Microbiology Laboratory receives specimens from practitioners throughout the Midwest and the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital for pathogen identification and susceptibility testing. My primary service interest is in the interpretation of antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
I participate in primarily collaborative research projects with investigators within the College of Veterinary Medicine and animal health industries. My research interests are in the therapy of bacterial infections in food animals and antimicrobial resistance development.
