Getting Your KSUCVM E-Mail From Home
What you will need:
1. Computer - Although you can use other platforms, we recommend a computer with Windows XP and a modem. WinXP has a built in dial up feature that is fairly simple to use.
2. ISP: To connect to the Internet, you must contract service with an Internet Service Provider that is already connected to the Internet, and negotiate a business agreement to join the Internet through them. The list of ISPs is large and ranges from small dial-up ISPs with a single computer and some dial-in lines, to large broad-band ISPs with thousands of miles of fiber strung around the country. Different ISPs offer different strengths and different monthly charges. Below are a few of the providers in the Manhattan area. You can also look in the Yellow Pages under Internet Service Providers.
