CBC and chemistry machine, gas anesthesia, Dentalaire dental machine, in clinic x-ray machine and We have an immediate opening for full time associate veterinary to join our mixed animal practice.  Our main practice is located in Madison South Dakota with a satellite clinic 20 miles west in Howard South Dakota.  Madison has a population of 6000 and is located 35 miles northwest of Sioux Falls.  Small town living with close proximity to large city is always a plus.
We are a mixed animal practice that takes pride in commitment to and commitment from our clients and our patients.  Large animal is mostly cow/calf operations.  Progressive herd health medicine to cow/calf, backgrounding, and feedlot is what we strive to achieve.
The small animal side of our practice has endless opportunities.  From the routine health checks to elective surgeries and emergency surgeries, you just never know what you might see.
As of now, we are a 3 doctor practice.  Two of us are full time and one is part time.  The two fulltime doctors split their time between large animal and small animal medicine.  The part time doctor excels in small animal medicine and equine medicine.  On call is split evenly between the 2 full time doctors right now.  On call will be split evenly between the three full time veterinarians.
We strive to provide quality veterinary services for both large and small animal.  We have portable hydraulic chutes, stationary hydraulic chutes in both clinics, large haul-in facilities at both clinics, and a tilt table in one clinic.  We have IBEX portable ultrasound machine, universal 900 portable ultrasound machine, portable x-ray machine, Abaxis digital processor, and equine power float.
Salary will be based on experience.  Benefits include health insurance, AVMA,  SDVMA dues, liability insurance, and CE stipend to name a few.
The perfect candidate would be energetic with motivation to improve on everything that we do.  Ultrasounding beef pregnancy is becoming a large part of late summer and early fall work, so interest and knowledge in that would be a plus.  Interest in small animal surgery could be endless for the right person.  Equine and small ruminant medicine can lead to more opportunities also.
