Dear 2019 graduate, I hope this finds you well and that you're enjoying your final year of veterinary school. I'm sure finding a position post graduation is still shuffled to the back of your priority list, but I just wanted to draw your attention to a position available as an associate in Carlsbad, NM. The position itself is as a general practitioner performing both routine wellness as well as sick pet appointments, routine surgery (spays, neuters, and dentals), and you will have the opportunity to do more intricate surgeries if you are interested. There are two veterinarians (4 and 12 years in practice) available for mentorship, both of which enjoy discussing cases/ treatment options and are more than happy to be of help whenever asked. Starting salary is $70-75,000 base + production, sign on bonus and moving stipend is negotiable, further, once comfortable, emergency call will be shared with the other veterinarians in the practice - $150-175/ call plus production. Other benefits include: insurance (health as well as malpractice), all licenses paid (state, dea, controlled substance license, avma, etc), 2 weeks vacation, 1 week sick leave, 1 week for continuing education + $1500 for CE costs. We try to provide a quality work-life balance - we each get one 1/2 day a week off and the Friday following an on-call week off - so a three day weekend at least once a month ;) If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them - I'm an associate at this practice and have been here since graduation. If you'd like to come see how you'd fit in, we'd love to have you. Thank you for your time, Trista Mills, DVM Associate Veterinarian Carlsbad Animal Clinic
