The Practice Management Center is located on the fourth floor of Trotter Hall. Enter at the Dean’s Office Entrance. Signs will be posted to direct you to registration.

Parking
Parking is available on the west side (off Denison Avenue) and on the east side (off Jardine Drive) of the Veterinary Medical Complex. A parking permit is not required for weekend parking. Do not park in the client parking or reserved stalls as you may get ticketed.

Objectives
The objectives of this conference are to review the physiology and treatment of fluid disorders using case examples to highlight important points.

College of Veterinary Medicine Speakers

Ruthanne Chun, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Clinical Oncology
Dr. Chun received her DVM degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed an internship at Cornell University and a residency at Purdue University. She was a clinical instructor in oncology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before joining the KSU faculty in 1997.

Laura Garrett, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Clinical Oncology
Dr. Garrett received her DVM from the University of Illinois. She completed an internship at the University of Minnesota and then worked in a private referral practice. She next completed a residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, after which she spent 1-1/2 years at a referral practice in New Zealand before joining the KSU faculty.

Kenneth Harkin, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Internal Medicine
Dr. Harkin is an assistant professor of small animal internal medicine in the department of Clinical Sciences at Kansas State University. He received his DVM from Iowa State University and completed a residency in internal medicine at Michigan State University. He was in a private referral practice for three years before joining the KSU faculty in 1997.

Lisa Moore, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Internal Medicine
Dr. Moore graduated from the University of Florida in 1991. She completed an internship (1991-1992) and medical residency (1992-1994) at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. Lisa went on to complete a third year of her medical residency (1994-1995) at the University of Florida and then returned to the AMC as a staff gastroenterologist from 1995-1997. She was in private practice in Tampa, FL 1997-1998. She joined the KSU faculty in August 1998. Her primary interests are gastroenterology, respiratory medicine and critical care.

Thomas Schermerhorn, VMD, PhD, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Internal Medicine
Dr. Schermerhorn received his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed an internship at South Shore Veterinary Associates and went on to complete a residency and a PhD at Cornell University.
