located on the fourth floor of Trotter Hall. Enter at the Dean’s Office
Entrance. Signs will be posted to direct you to registration.
Parking
Parking is available on the west side (off
Denison Avenue) and on the east side (off Jardine Drive) of the
Veterinary Medical Complex. A parking permit is not required for weekend
parking. Do not park in the client
parking or reserved stalls as you may get ticketed.

Conference Objectives
The objectives of this seminar are to discuss common canine maladies
ranging from important infectious diseases to common neoplasms and the
management of these problems.

Medicine Speakers
Ruthanne Chun,
DVM, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Clinical Oncology
Dr. Chun received her DVM degree from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed an
internship at Cornell University and a residency at Purdue University.
She was a clinical instructor in oncology at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison before joining the KSU faculty in 1997.
Tammy Evans, DVM
Resident, Small Animal Internal Medicine
Dr. Evans is a graduate of Auburn University. She recently completed a
private practice small animal internship at Greenbrier Veterinary
Referral Clinic. Dr. Evans is currently a resident in small animal
internal medicine.
Kenneth Harkin,
DVM, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Internal Medicine
Dr. Harkin is an assistant professor of small animal internal medicine
in the department of Clinical Sciences at Kansas State University. He
received his DVM from Iowa State University and completed a residency in
internal medicine at Michigan State University. He was in a private
referral practice for three years before joining the KSU faculty in
1997.
Heather Heeb, DVM
Resident, Clinical Oncology
Dr. Heeb received her DVM from KSU. She completed a small animal
internship at Texas A&M before joining the KSU faculty as an oncology
resident in the department of Clinical Sciences.
Thomas
Schermerhorn, VMD, PhD, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Internal Medicine
Dr. Schermerhorn received his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania.
He completed an internship at South Shore Veterinary Associates and went
on to complete a residency and a PhD at Cornell University.
