Guest Speakers
Ruthanne Chun, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Clinical Oncology
Dr. Chun received her DVM from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed an internship at Cornell University and a residency at Purdue University. She was a clinical instructor in oncology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before joining KSU faculty in 1997.

Michael Dryden, DVM, PhD
Professor, Parasitology
Dr. Dryden received his DVM in 1984 from Kansas State University. Mike was in private practice for 2.5 years. He received his MS and his PhD from Purdue University. He joined the KSU faculty in 1990 and his primary research focus is on the biology and control of fleas infesting dogs and cats.

Kenneth Harkin, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Internal Medicine
Dr. Harkin received his DVM from Iowa State University and completed a residency in internal medicine at Michigan State University. He was in a private referral practice for three years before joining the faculty at KSU in 1997. His research interests include infectious disease, canine dysautonomia, perianal fistula of dogs and chronic canine liver disease.

Jerry Jaax, DVM, DACLAM
Associate Vice Provost for Research Compliance and University Veterinarian
Dr. Jaax received his DVM from KSU in 1972. He is board certified in Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM). He had been selected and appointed as Consultant to the Surgeon General for his veterinary specialties in the Department of Defense. During the outbreak of the Ebola virus in the Reston, VA monkey facility in December 1989, Col. Jerry Jaax was the leader of the team of soldiers and scientists who worked around the clock to manage and contain the outbreak. Dr. Jerry Jaax has retired from the US Army. He joined the KSU faculty in 1999.

Lisa Moore, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Internal Medicine
Dr. Moore received her DVM from the University of Florida in 1991. She completed an internship and medical residency at The Animal Medical Center in New York City, and worked on staff there for two years. She was in private practice in Tampa, FL before joining the Kansas State University faculty in 1998. Her primary interests are gastroenterology, critical care, and respiratory diseases.
