Speakers
Ruthanne Chun, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Clinical Oncology
Dr. Chun received her DVM degree from the Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary
Medicine. She did a 1-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at
Cornell Univ. She completed a three year residency in comparative oncology at Purdue Univ.
and then worked as a clinical instructor in oncology at the Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison
School of Veterinary Medicine before joining KSU faculty in 1997.
Laura Garrett, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Clinical Oncology
Dr. Garrett received her undergraduate and DVM degrees from the Univ. of Illinois. She did
a 1-year rotating internship at the Univ. of Minnesota and then worked in a private
referral practice in the twin cities for 2 years. She next completed a 2-year residency in
comparative oncology at the Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison, after which she spent 1-1/2 years
at a referral practice in New Zealand before coming to KSU.
Heather Heeb, DVM
Resident, Clinical Oncology
Dr. Heeb received her DVM from KSU. She completed a small animal internship at Texas
A&M before joining the KSU faculty as an oncology resident in the department of
Clinical Sciences.
Dennis Olsen, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVS
Assistant Professor, Small Animal Surgery
Dr. Olsen received his DVM from Oregon State Univ. He completed a residency at Colorado
State Univ. He spent two years as a clinical instructor of surgery at the Univ. of Georgia
and Virginia Tech. Dr. Olsen's professional activity at KSU includes small animal general
surgery with interest in cardiovascular surgery.
MaryAnn Radlinsky, DVM, Diplomate ACVS
Assistant Professor, Small Animal Surgery
Dr. Radlinsky received her DVM from Cornell Univ. She completed a residency at Texas
A&M. Her research interest is surgical management of tracheal disease, pyothorax, and
intervertebral disc disease. Her previous work included intraluminal support of the canine
trachea and mainstem bronchi using the Palmaz stent.
