• Speakers
  Deborah Briggs, BS, MS, PhD
  Professor, Public Health
  Dr. Briggs is the Director of the Rabies Laboratory in the Dept. of Diagnostic Medicine / Pathobiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at KSU. Her research interests are in rabies pathogenesis in the domestic ferret and immunological response of rabies vaccination in humans.

Ruthanne Chun, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Clinical Oncology
Dr. Chun received her DVM degree from the Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. She did a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Cornell University. She completed a three-year residency in comparative oncology at Purdue and then worked as a clinical instructor in oncology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine before joining the Kansas State University faculty in 1997.

Laura Garrett, DVM
Assistant Professor, Clinical Oncology
Dr. Garrett received her undergraduate and DVM degrees from the University of Illinois. She did a one-year rotating internship at the University of Minnesota and then worked in a private referral practice in the twin cities for 2 years. She next completed a 2-year residency in comparative oncology at University of Wisconsin-Madison, after which she spent 1-1/2 years at a referral practice in New Zealand before coming to Kansas State University this fall.

Kenneth Harkin, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM
Assistant Professor, Internal Medicine
Dr. Harkin is an assistant professor of small animal internal medicine in the department of Clinical Sciences at Kansas State University. He received his DVM from Iowa State University and completed a residency in internal medicine at Michigan State University. He was in a private referral practice for three years before joining the faculty at Kansas State University in 1997.

Lisa Moore, DVM
Assistant Professor, Small Animal Internal Medicine
Graduated from University of Florida in 1991, internship (1991-1992) and medical residency (1992-1994) at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. Third year medical residency (1991-1995) at University of Florida, staff gastroenterologist at the Animal Medical Center from 1995-1997. Private practice in Tampa, FL 1997-1998, joined KSU in August 1998. Primary interests are gastroenterology, critical care, endocrinology, infectious diseases.

Carol Wetterman
Resident, Oncology
Dr. Wetterman received her DVM from Louisiana State University in 1997. She is a Small Animal Resident specializing in Oncology.
