The 23rd Meeting of the American Society for Rickettsiology

August 15-18, 2009

Abstract Submissions
All meeting participants who wish to present either an oral presentation or a poster presentation should submit an abstract.  Abstracts MUST be received by June 12, 2009.

All Abstracts must be submitted on-line.  Abstract submissions will include the following: presentation title, authors (with an asterisk following the presenting author), affiliation(s), and abstract text.  The body of the abstract should be no more than 300 words in length and should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document.  Do not fax or land mail abstracts.  A meeting program and abstracts will be compiled and posted on-line at the meeting website as well as printed and distributed to registered meeting participants.

Oral Presentations:
Oral (PowerPoint) presentations will be no more than 12 minutes in length (allowing up to 3 minutes for questions and answers).  The presenting author will receive a confirmation when the abstract is received.  The presenting author will also receive information indicating the day and time of the presentation by July 24, 2009.  Due to the limited number of slots available for oral presentations, the organizing committee may designate some submissions as poster presentations, based on the number of abstracts submitted for each topic area.

Poster Presentations:
Poster sessions will be scheduled throughout the meeting.  Each accepted poster will be assigned to a single-day presentation (set-up in the morning and remove at the end of the day).  The available poster boards are approximately 4 feet high and 8 feet long; push pins will be provided.  The presenting author will receive a confirmation when the abstract has been received.  The presenting author will also receive information indicating the day and time of the presentation by July 24, 2009.
