Frick Auditorium, Mosier Hall, College of Veterinary Medicine, 1800 Denison Avenue, Manhattan, KS Frick Auditorium is located on the second floor of Mosier Hall. Enter at the Emergency Entrance. Signs will be posted in the building to direct you to registration.

 

REGISTRATION
Cancellations prior to September 20, 2011 will be subject to a $20 cancellation fee. Requests for refunds after this date cannot be granted. Kansas State University is not responsible for costs related to travel if the course needs to be cancelled for any reason.

To provide the equine professional with a comprehensive understanding of equine reproduction and neonatology.

Guest Speaker

Andres Estrada, DVM, MS, DACT, DECAR
Dr. Estrada graduated from La Salle University in Bogota, Columbia in 1997, practiced equine veterinary medicine in his home country for several years and then completed two internships in equine reproduction in Canada and in Germany. He completed two residencies in theriogenology (2004) and equine practice (2006) at Kansas State University. Dr. Estrada is currently practicing at Santa Sofia Equine in central New Mexico.

 

K-State Speakers

Laurie Beard, DVM, MS, DACVIM
Associate professor of equine internal medicine
Dr. Beard earned her DVM in 1991 from Washington State University. She then did an internship at the Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Ky. Dr. Beard completed both her residency in equine internal medicine and her master’s degree at Ohio State University in 1995. She worked as an associate professor at Ohio State for six years before joining the Kansas State University faculty as an associate clinical professor of equine internal medicine.


Elizabeth Davis, DVM, PhD, DACVIM
Associate professor and section head of equine medicine and surgery
Dr. Davis is a 1996 graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and a 2002 ACVIM Large Animal Diplomate. Dr. Davis earned her PhD from Kansas State University in 2004 in equine innate immunity. Her clinical interests include immunologic disorders, respiratory disease, neurologic disease and foals. Dr. Davis’ research interests consist of innate immunity, determining effective vaccine and immunomodulatory strategies in horses.


James Lillich, DVM, MS, DACVS
Associate professor of equine surgery
Dr. Lillich is a 1991 graduate of Colorado State University. He completed an internship in large animal surgery at Cornell University in 1992. From 1992 to 1996 he completed a residency in equine surgery and served as a clinical instructor in food animal surgery at Ohio State University. Dr. Lillich became a faculty member at Kansas State University in 1996. His research interests include developmental orthopedic disease, osteoarthritis, joint therapies and NSAID toxicity.

Parking
Parking is available on the west side (off Denison Avenue) and on the east side (off Jardine Drive) of the Veterinary Medical Complex. A parking permit is not required for weekend parking. Do not park in the client parking or reserved stalls as you may get ticketed.
