Practice Management Center is located on the fourth floor of
Trotter Hall. Enter at the Dean’s Office Entrance. Signs will be
posted to direct you to registration .

Registration is limited to 30 participants with
practitioners having priority registration.
Attendee spaces will be assigned
on a first-come, first-served basis.
Conference Objectives
The 2nd Equine Reproduction Conference for Practitioners
is designed to help private practitioners update and increase
their knowledge and skills on equine reproduction and
neonatology. This conference will focus on assessment and
management of normal and complicated foalings, and surgical and
orthopedic conditions in mares and foals. Extensive hands-on
experience will be provided on fetotomy, joint lavage and
correction of limb deformities in foals. Supervised instruction
will be provided by board certified theriogenologists and
surgeons from the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, Kansas
State University.

Conference Wet Labs
Conference participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in each of the following wet labs:

Warren Beard ,
DVM, MS, DACVS
Professor, Equine Surgery
Dr. Beard received his BS and DVM degrees from Texas A & M
University in 1981 and 1983 respectively. He entered private
practice in Dickinson, TX for two years before beginning a
residency at Ohio State University. He completed his surgical
residency and received an MS degree in Surgical Sciences in
1988. Following the residency he began a clinical instructorship
as the emergency surgeon at Ohio State University for one year.
Dr. Beard remained on faculty as an equine surgeon for 14 years
first as an assistant and then as an associate professor before
joining the K-State faculty in 2004.
Michelle Delco , DVM, DACVS
Assistant Professor, Equine Surgery
Dr. Delco received her DVM degree from Cornell University. She
completed an internship at Rood and Riddle in Lexington,
Kentucky then moved to California to complete an equine surgery
residency at UC-Davis. Michelle joined the K-State faculty in
2006 as a clinical assistant professor of equine surgery.
Maria Ferrer ,
DVM, MS, DACT
Assistant Professor, Equine Theriogenology
Dr. Ferrer received her Veterinary Degree from the University of
Buenos Aires in 2000. In 2005, she completed her MS from
Louisiana State and became a Diplomate of the American College
of Theriogenology. Dr. Ferrer joined the K-State faculty in
August of 2006 as a clinical assistant professor of
theriogenology .

Parking is available on the west side
(off Denison Avenue) and on the east side (off Jardine Drive) of
the Veterinary Medical Complex. A parking permit is not required
for weekend parking. Do not
park in the client parking or reserved stalls as you may get
ticketed.

room availability, first-come first-served basis.
