Frick Auditorium is located on the second floor of Mosier Hall. Enter at the Emergency Entrance. Signs will be posted to direct you to registration.

Conference Objectives
Back by popular demand! The first day of this conference will provide up-to-date information regarding de-worming, vaccination, nutrition, and herd management of alpacas and llamas. We will also discuss tips for on-farm procedures and a variety of medical and surgical problems of neonates and adults. The second day of this conference will focus on breeding and reproduction. Detailed information will be presented on management of breeding adults, selection of replacement stock, evaluation of breeding soundness, pregnancy diagnosis, plus a variety of medical and surgical problems of reproduction.

K-State Conference Speakers

David Anderson, DVM, MS, DACVS
Professor and Section Head, Agricultural Practices
Dr. Anderson received his DVM from North Carolina State University. He then completed a 1-year internship in medicine and surgery at the University of Georgia and a 3-year residency at Kansas State University. Dr. Anderson became a board certified specialist in surgery in 1995. While at Kansas State University, he earned a MS degree in Clinical Sciences. After 11 years at Ohio State University as Head of Food Animal Medicine and Surgery, Dr. Anderson returned to K-State in 2006 as Professor and Section Head of Agricultural Practices.

Meredyth Jones, DVM, MS, DACVIM
Clinical Assistant Professor, Agricultural Practices
Dr. Jones received her DVM from Oklahoma State University in 2002. She entered private practice at the Midway Veterinary Clinic in Brandenburg, Kentucky for one year. She then completed a residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine-Emphasis Food Animal and received an MS degree in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences at Oklahoma State University in 2006. Dr. Jones joined the K-State faculty in July of 2006.

Dan Linden, MS
Mr. Linden received his MS degree in Veterinary Science from Ohio State University specializing in camelid nutrition and grazing management. He was herd manager for Ohio State University Camelid Health Program. Dan is currently pursuing a PhD in Ruminant Nutrition in the College of Agriculture at K-State.

Matt Miesner, DVM, MS, DACVIM
Clinical Assistant Professor, Agricultural Practices
Dr. Miesner received his DVM from Washington State University in 1999. He then practiced as an associate veterinarian in general private practice in Pasco, Washington before beginning a residency in Food Animal Medicine and Surgery at Ohio State University. After his residency Dr. Miesner remained at OSU as a clinical instructor and a year later was appointed as an assistant professor and also received his MS degree. Dr. Miesner joined the K-State faculty in August of 2006.

Kara Schulz, DVM
Resident, Agricultural Practices
Dr. Schulz received her DVM from the University of Minnesota in 2005. She then did a large animal surgery and medicine internship at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2005-2006. Dr. Schulz is currently a resident in food animal surgery at K-State.

  
Parking
Parking is available on the west side (off Denison Avenue) and on the east side (off Jardine Drive) of the Veterinary Medical Complex. A parking permit is required for on-campus parking Monday-Friday. Do not park in the client parking or reserved stalls as you may get ticketed.
