Alumni Recognitions:
The K-State Veterinary Medical Alumni Association will present the E.R.
Frank and Distinguished Alumnus Awards. Certificates of appreciation
will be presented to those executive board members completing their term
of service and new members will be inducted. Dr. William Brown, VMAA
President, will facilitate.
Distinguished Alumnus Award:
Dr. Jack Judy will receive the College's 2008 Distinguished Alumnus
Award for outstanding achievements and contributions to the veterinary
profession. Dr. Judy received his DVM from K-State in 1958.
E.R. Frank Award:
Dr. George Kennedy will receive the College’s 2008 E. R. Frank Award to
honor those veterinarians who have contributed positively and
significantly to veterinary medicine through their long-term service to
the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
AVMA President’s Award:
Dr. John Noordsy will receive the AVMA President's Award from AVMA
President Dr. Greg Hammer. The award recognizes individuals and groups
inside and outside veterinary medicine, who have made a positive impact
on animal, human, or public health, veterinary organizations, and the
profession. Dr. Noordsy earned his DVM from K-State in 1946.
In honor of Dr. Dan Upson, KSU 1952
The Class of 1962 Endowment for Veterinary
Medicine was established to support an ongoing lectureship to be held in
honor of Dr. Dan Upson. The 2008 Monday afternoon companion and food
animal sessions are sponsored by this lectureship.
